Weston-super-Mare’s volunteer RNLI crew open Buzz Bingo

The local Gala Bingo premises in the Gallagher retail park has rebranded to Buzz Bingo. To mark the occasion, the local volunteer RNLI crew were invited to cut the ribbon in the official opening.

The Buzz Bingo staff were asked to nominate which organisation they would like to make their official charity and the local RNLI station was keenly chosen after being agreed upon.

Buzz Bingo General Manager, Shaun Tippins made contact with the local station and asked if the lifeboat crew would like to open the premises in recognition of the work that they do, saving lives at sea.

The opening was attended by members of the lifeboat station and the fundraising branch who also arranged for collection boxes to be made available for the public to donate into.

The official ribbon was cut by Lifeboat Operations Manager of the Weston RNLI station, Mike Buckland and Buzz Bingo General Manager, Shaun Tippins who stated that collections for the RNLI can be made for the next 12 months as customers play games at the rebranded hall.

Fundraising Chair, Peter Elmont who also attended the opening said: ‘We are extremely grateful to Shaun and his staff at Buzz Bingo for their support towards our fundraising activities. Every pound that is donated to the RNLI goes towards helping the lifeboat crew do what they do best; saving lives at sea’.
