The local Bingo Cafe in Dolphin Square arranged the fun casino night on Friday 14th September with the theme of ‘1920’s Gatsby’.
Guests were invited to ‘dress to impress’ and arrived in a selection of smart suits and dresses from the 1920’s era.
The evening involved a range of fun casino games with food also being provided.
The local staff decided to make two charities the beneficiaries of the event and chose the Weston RNLI and The Carers Trust.
Luda has already donated over £500 to the RNLI and collection boxes are still being contributed to by members of the public, all of which is very gratefully received.
The donations will be used to provide the lifeboat station and volunteer crews with essential life-saving supplies and help them maintain and service the station’s existing equipment. The Weston RNLI is also still fundraising for a new station which will be built near to their existing base at Marine Lake.
RNLI Fundraising Chair, Peter Elmont said: ‘We are extremely grateful for the support of Weston Luda and the public’s response to donate to both the RNLI and The Carer’s Trust. Every pound that is donated to the RNLI goes towards helping the lifeboat crew do what they do best: saving lives at sea’.
